Yoda Cake

I have a a fear of fondant. I've read plenty about how easy it can be and how the marshmallow variety is actually quite tasty. I imagine one day I might get there, but for the moment I will stay safely wrapped in my fear.

I made this cake a few years ago for my nephew's 5th birthday. All butter cream icing and piped with a million stars. Would like to take all the credit for this, but my mother-in-law leveled the cake and gave me the perfect surface to work with. Her ridiculous attention to detail comes in handy sometimes.

Pintrest

So like almost every other woman in the world, I’m obsessed with Pinterest. I have an extensive number of pins that I want to try sometime. A few I have.

I’m not what you would call a girly-girl and never thought that I cared too much about jewelry, but it seems to be I’m learning new things about myself. I say that because it's the DIY jewelry that I’ve tried to duplicate the most.

I think I’ll be giving myself some kind of challenge in the future. Make myself finally do some of these projects, instead of just looking at them. In the interim, here are a few of my attempts, some are better than others.

My first attempt were these Paperclip Earrings made with you guessed it...paperclips and cross stitch thread. Super easy. Made them in the morning before going to work.

Scrapbook Paper and Modge Podge....awesome

Washer Necklace. This is one of my favorites so far. I find it difficult to cut the center circle evenly though.

The First

This is where I will be sharing my failures and successes in the kitchen, craft table, and elsewhere. You will also be blessed with my random thoughts and rants on many a subject. I fear this may become a public journal of sorts….we shall see.
